

Through June 30: Good Music: An Illustrated Record of Rock ‘n’ Roll - This exhibition of rock music memorabilia from the music archive of writer and Connecticut disc jockey Ken Best includes photos, LPs, books, posters, memorabilia and even neckties. Kalachnikoff works almost exclusively in acrylic, using feathers and papyrus to create the butterflies which she affixes to canvases of peaceful colors in flowing swarms of graceful movement. Through May 21: Nadine Kalachnikoff Collection - Who knew a serendipitous encounter with a butterfly would launch someone into a new venture as an artist? That’s what happened to Nadine Kalachnikoff, whose exhibition features playful, three-dimensional collages of butterflies on canvas. Also featuring juried artworks with a southeastern Connecticut theme created by contemporary artists, the event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. May 26–29: Art in Waterford: Past + Present + Future - Famous puppets and marionettes such as Pinocchio, The Blue Fairy and characters from Treasure Island - created by two well-known Waterford artists from years past, Rufus and Margo Rose - will be on display in the historic buildings of the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center during the Waterford Historical Society’s fifth annual Art In Waterford: Past + Present + Future event.
